In 2026, FORWIT will focus on the theme “Science to Business – Financing Sustainable Innovation Growth” to develop evidence-based recommendations for the Austrian Federal Government on this issue. The work draws, among other things, on key findings from the McKinsey report on Europe’s deep-tech potential, WIFO’s analyses of key technologies, and the Draghi report. These sources highlight that, in international comparison, Austria lags behind particularly in the area of deep-tech start-ups and emerging high-tech enterprises, while at the same time possessing substantial untapped growth potential.
