The European Union’s next multiannual financial framework will come into force on 1 January 2028 – discussions on this have already begun. Of particular importance to the STI ecosystem is the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FP), which is set to launch its 10th edition in 2028 (FP10).

The Framework Programme is not only relevant because of its funding opportunities and transnational research collaborations, but also because it has a direct impact on the shaping of national policies on research, science, innovation and technology development. FORWIT is therefore working intensively on the question of what criteria can be used to ensure that FP10 is designed with the future in mind.
