FORWIT advises the federal government on the policy areas of research, science, innovation and technology development in order to sustainably strengthen Austria’s innovative power and increase the country’s competitiveness.
Legal basis
The tasks and objectives of FORWIT are defined on a legal basis by a federal law.
Guiding principle
The Council views the STI ecosystem from a holistic perspective in order to utilise its effectiveness for society as a whole, taking into account the European and global context. The aim is to create a sustainable orientation framework for Austria’s prosperity and security based on science, research and innovation.
