With the STI Monitor, the Council makes a significant contribution to science-based policymaking in Austria. The systemic analyses and intuitive visualisations of the data generated, based on more than 240 indicators, provide a basis for impact-oriented innovation policy decisions. The Council also relies on external, independent expertise on certain topics and can commission studies for this purpose, the findings of which are incorporated into the Council’s work. The Council also informs the Federal Government, the National Council and the public about its activities in a biennial activity report.
